ICCA 2019 Finals Preview

On April 27, a brand new ICCA Champion will be named at the Playstation Theatre in New York City.

Each of this year’s groups brings a different set of talents and strengths – which group will rise to the top? Will the ScatterTones or The Originals finally outdo their previous 2nd place finishes? Will longtime strong competitors like The Trills, the N’Harmonics, and The G-Men learn from their past attempts? Or will a newcomer surpass them all?

Seats in the theater are sold out, but there is a livestream and we’ll be sure to bring you a full recap!

Some pretty exciting music happening all over the world in this week’s #NewTunesday!

TriforceFilms

The buzz is reaching a breaking point as Endgame inches closer, so we’d like to start with this one.

Camp A Cappella with Backtrack

Get a peek inside the fun at the world’s biggest a cappella camp with this little hit from The Greatest Showman.

Rebel Bit

US audiences may have first been introduced to this group during the CARA Ceremony, but this Muse cover shows off even more of what this Italian group can do.

Liitto Ensemble

Be sure to check out this new-to-us group out of Finland – this live video is worth a watch!

Quinta and a Half

Translating to “Days of Silence”, you don’t need to speak Hebrew to appreciate this beautiful song from Quinta and a Half.

No Southern Accent

Performed live at The Betsy A Cappella Festival in Miami last fall, NSA does justice to an intense James Arthur song.

Countermeasure

In a tribute to Critical Role and Critter and D&D, this Toronto group did something a little out of the ordinary.

MSU Accafellas

Always nice to hear a cover of an a cappella community alumnus – this time from Ben Platt of Pitch Perfect and Dear Evan Hansen fame.

One Minute With: Joe Santoni

It takes a big personality and a big voice to step in a conquer Deke Sharon re-imagined bass lines of the Disney catalog. Veteran opera singer Joe Santoni ended up being just right for the role. Stepping up from other vocal projects in LA, Joe took his super vibrant low range on the road for DCappella‘s first North American tour.
