New Programming Schedule Starts July 1

Starting July 1st, we are rolling out a TON of new content on Acaville! With all of these exciting updates, we’ve decided to update our broadcast calendar as well.

Here’s what’s new:

Barbershop 7th Hour
Host: Jeremy K. Gover of the Barbershop Harmony Society
Thursdays at 5 PM Pacific, Sundays at 11 AM & 11 PM Pacific

Jeremy spends his days inside the walls of Harmony Halls and you can find him in “mission control” during BHS International. In this hour each week, he will bring you some of the best performances in barbershop, hidden gems, interviews, and all the barbershop information you want and need!

Counterpoint
Hosts: Deke Sharon and Rob Dietz
Mondays at 5 PM Pacific, Sundays at 7 AM & 7 PM Pacific

You know them, you love them and they love you, too! Why else would they bring you A-List guests, hot topics to ponder, and a lifetime of a cappella knowledge? Our broadcasts start on July 1 with Season 1!

The Pulse
Host: Rachael Schoenbaum
Tuesdays at 6 PM Pacific, Sundays at 10 AM & 10 PM Pacific\

Here at Acaville we do a LOT of traveling and we meet some incredible groups. Rachael sits down with high school, collegiate, adult, and pro groups – some of whom aren’t that well known – yet. Get to know your community-at-large and listen in to hear what groups just like you have to say!

Vocal HERspective
Hosts: Amanda Cornaglia and Rachael Shoenbaum
Tuesdays at 6:30 PM Pacific, Sundays at 10:30 AM & 10:30 PM Pacific

Let’s face it – women are doing amazing things everywhere – and everywhere includes a cappella. And yet, when push comes to shove, community members, news outlets, and media still often default to the male perspective for advice. Each week, Amanda and Rachael will introduce you to a woman or female-identifying member of the a cappella community that you should know more about – and they have plenty of great advice for all singers!

And we’ll still be airing all of your favorites – just a few will air at new times, including:

Competition Countdown
Host: Rachael Schoenbaum
Mondays at 5 PM Pacific, Sundays at 7 AM & 7 PM Pacific

Here at Acaville we love to catch up with all of the competitors – ICHSA, ICCA, and AcaOpen – anywhere there is a prize on the line. Dive deep with us in 30 minute interviews that include live singing! This show will return in the fall and winter once competition season kicks up again.

Rebroadcast Sundays
All Day Sundays

Yep, you read that right – our Rebroadcast Saturdays are moving to Sundays! Since we now have so many live streams on Friday and Saturday nights, we wanted to make sure you could catch the shows you missed during the week while still enjoying live music from around the globe. Requests and Dedications

The Spotlight
Hosts: Aaron Director and Rachael Schoenbaum
Wednesdays at 5 PM Pacific, Sundays at 3 AM & 3 PM Pacific

Each week, our hosts bring you two groups that we’ve met during our travels and the listeners get to hear extensive interviews and live singing. We’ve met with so many great groups, so don’t miss your chance to hear them and learn more about their journey.

Sunday Sunrise
Host: Amanda Cornaglia
Sundays at 6 AM & 6 PM Pacific

A Cappella is Italian for “in the style of the chapel” and has deep roots in religious music. On Sundays, we’re playing everything from early music, to traditional, to modern Christian music. Hear some great inspirational music from  Take 6, Chris Rupp, Acappella, Crossroads, Testimony, CHoosE, Vocal Spectrum, and more!

Talkappella
Hosts: John Lampus and Brian Alexander
Tuesdays at 5 PM Pacific, Sundays at 4 AM & 4 PM Pacific

Every a cappella nerd’s dream! John and Brian sit down with people from all corners of the a cappella world and talk nothing but a cappella for a whole hour. It’s informative, fun, and a not-to-missed show!

Theme Hour
Host: Amanda Cornaglia
*NEW TIME* Mondays at 6 PM Pacific, Sundays at 5 AM & 5 PM Pacific

Each week we choose a new theme, but here’s the catch: we don’t tell you what it is! Listen each week, figure out the theme, and send your guess to onair@acaville.org.

And we’ve also launched a Podcast Network so you can catch all of our shows on-demand. See all of the latest shows all in one place!

We’ve got a lot more big changes ahead – make sure you stay tuned to Acaville and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up with all of the good news!

Studio 4

We’re getting SUPER excited about BHS International in Salt Lake City next month, so imagine our joy to see this live performance of a Chicago tune done by one of the world’s top quartets.

Reverse Osmosis

Sung live, RO took on the Staves, led by Sarah Exodus.

New Tunesday – May 28, 2019

Summer unofficially kicked off here in the U.S. while the new a cappella releases stay hot. Here are this week’s top new releases:

Pentatonix

The wave from Dear Evan Hansen hasn’t crested yet, and PTX rides it just fine.

2018 AIC Show Highlights

Counting down the minutes until the BHS International Convention in Salt Lake City this  summer? Well, this probably isn’t going to alleviate that excitement – some highlights from last year’s AIC Show:

MAZE Voices

A beautiful original song with a spot on music video – watching this group out of Aarhus makes us a little extra sad we aren’t in Denmark this week!

Limited Edition

One of the best high school groups in the US, this Ben Rector cover is the perfect fit for the powerhouses from Port Washington.

The Lost Keys

Everyone loves a good couch video and this Bastille cover hits all the right places. Check out the latest from this superstar CAL group out of NYC.

Take Flight

Perhaps the first cover of an Avi Kaplan original since the former Pentatonix bass pursued his solo career, done by Harmony Sweepstakes finalists, Take Flight.

Collaborate

A relatively new group out of London, Collaborate put a little shine on their live performance of My My My.

Tonal Ecstasy

McGill University’s oldest a cappella group performed a Vulfpeck cover to close out the spring semester.
